The GUHRING 9038910065000 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 6.5 mm cutting diameter, a 16 mm length of cut, and three flutes with a variable helix geometry. The tool is FIREX coated using a PVD process with a TiAlN and TiN multilayer finish, which extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. A 0.1 mm chamfer width at 45 degrees protects the cutting corner and reduces edge chipping. The 8 mm straight cylindrical shank and extended reach design make it suitable for deep-cavity and reach-critical setups. This tool is installed and run by CNC machinists and toolroom professionals.
This end mill is built for roughing and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium as primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability for cast iron and non-ferrous metals. Supported operations include shouldering, slotting, ramp-down, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing. The centercutting design and coarse pitch make it effective for slotting passes and full-width cuts. The extended reach length of 24 mm and reduced neck diameter of 6.2 mm allow the tool to reach into pockets and stepped features without interference from the shank. This makes it a practical choice for mold work, aerospace components, and complex prismatic parts.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines accepting an 8 mm straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for toolholders with h6-toleranced shank bores. Intended for applications involving steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Secure the shank in a precision collet or hydraulic toolholder to the appropriate clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in a safe state before changing or measuring tools.
