The GUHRING 9037410160000 is a single-end solid carbide square end mill designed for precision metal removal in demanding machining applications. It measures 0.6300 inches (16.00 mm) in diameter with a 1.024-inch length of cut and a 45-degree helix angle. The three-flute geometry and FIREX coating work together to extend tool life and maintain cutting performance across ferrous and stainless materials. This tool is centercutting, right-hand cut, right-hand flute, with a spiral flute profile and a straight-cylindrical shank. It is used by machinists in job shops, production environments, and toolrooms requiring consistent performance on difficult workpiece materials.
This end mill is rated for primary use in cast iron, stainless steel, and steel, with secondary suitability for non-ferrous and superalloy materials. The regular length type and 3.622-inch (92.00 mm) overall length make it well suited for standard milling operations including slotting, profiling, and peripheral cuts in both CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The FIREX finish provides a hard, heat-resistant surface layer that reduces built-up edge and thermal wear at higher cutting speeds common in steel and stainless applications.
Designed as a Series 3741 solid carbide square end mill for use in standard straight-shank collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and milling chucks compatible with 16.00 mm (0.6299 inch) shank diameter toolholding systems. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, stainless steel, and steel; secondary materials include non-ferrous and superalloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Secure the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended engagement depth for the holder type in use, and verify runout before cutting. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's torque specifications for set screws or clamping nuts.
