The GUHRING 9037410055000 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in demanding industrial and metalworking applications. Part of the Series 3741 lineup, this single-end tool features a 3-flute spiral flute geometry with a 45-degree helix angle and a FIREX coating for enhanced wear resistance and heat reduction at the cutting edge. The 0.2165-inch (5.50 mm) mill diameter and 0.394-inch (10.00 mm) length of cut make it well suited for finishing and light roughing passes where tight tolerances are required. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into workpieces. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals using CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
This end mill is built for cutting cast iron, stainless steel, and steel as its primary workpiece materials, with additional rated capability for non-ferrous and superalloy materials (secondary material codes N and S). The straight cylindrical shank at 0.2165 inches (5.50 mm) diameter with an h6 tolerance fits standard collet and end mill holder systems. The overall tool length of 57.00 mm and a reach length of 21.00 mm provide a compact, rigid setup that minimizes deflection during high-speed milling passes on ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 0.2165-inch (5.50 mm) cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials cast iron, stainless steel, and steel (material codes K, M, P) and secondary workpiece materials non-ferrous and superalloys (codes N and S).
Install and remove this tool using appropriate collet wrenches or toolholder spanners with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the toolholder is torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification before cutting. This is a precision ground carbide tool — avoid contact with hard surfaces during handling to prevent chipping of the cutting edges. Qualified machinists should set cutting parameters (speed, feed, depth of cut) based on workpiece material hardness and machine rigidity.
