The GUHRING 9037410040000 is a solid carbide square end mill from the Series 3741 product line, designed for precision milling operations in demanding metalworking applications. This single-end tool features a 0.157 inch (4.00 mm) mill diameter with a 0.315 inch length of cut and a 45-degree helix angle for aggressive, efficient chip evacuation. The FIREX coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal protection, making this end mill well suited for cutting cast iron, stainless steel, and steel. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms.
This end mill is built for right-hand cutting with right-hand spiral flutes and centercutting capability, allowing direct plunge entry into workpieces. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.1575 inches in diameter with an h6 tolerance, ensuring consistent tool holding in standard collet and end mill holders. The overall length is 50.00 mm (approximately 1.969 inches). With a regular length type and no chipbreaker or coolant-through feature, this tool is optimized for standard milling passes in steel, stainless, and cast iron materials at typical shop cutting parameters.
Designed for use in standard straight-bore collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and end mill holders accepting a 0.1575 inch cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials including cast iron (K), stainless steel (M), and steel (P), with secondary suitability for non-ferrous and superalloy materials (N, S).
This tool is installed and operated by machinists using CNC machining centers or manual mills equipped with appropriate collet or end mill holders. Ensure the tool is fully seated and properly torqued in the holder before operation, following the holder manufacturer's clamping guidelines. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or wear before each use. Always set spindle speed and feed rate according to the workpiece material and machine capability to avoid tool deflection or premature wear.
