The GUHRING 9037360180000 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Part of the Series 3736 lineup, this single-end tool features a 0.7087-inch (18 mm) diameter, a 1.26-inch length of cut, and a variable helix geometry with flute angles at 35 and 38 degrees. The variable helix design reduces harmonic vibration during cutting, promoting smoother finishes and longer tool life. A FIREX coating adds thermal and wear resistance, extending performance in abrasive and hard materials. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for milling cast iron, steel, stainless steel, and hard materials in both roughing and semi-finishing operations. The centercutting configuration allows plunge entry, giving operators flexibility in toolpath programming. With a straight-cylindrical shank at 0.7087 inches (18 mm) and a right-hand cut with right-hand spiral flutes, it is compatible with standard ER and side-lock toolholders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The regular-length flute profile makes it appropriate for general-purpose slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling where extended reach is not required.
Designed for use with cast iron and steel as primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability for hard materials and stainless steel. Compatible with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting an 18 mm (0.7087-inch) shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the toolholder bore and shank are clean and free of chips or coolant residue before seating. Confirm proper runout with a dial indicator before engaging the workpiece. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rates for the workpiece material being machined.
