The GUHRING 9037360120000 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in ferrous and hard materials. Part of the Series 3736 product line, it features a variable helix design with 35 and 38 degree helix angles that reduce harmonic vibration and improve surface finish stability during aggressive cuts. The 0.472 inch (12 mm) cutting diameter pairs with a 1.024 inch length of cut, giving technicians and machinists sufficient axial engagement for most standard milling applications. The FIREX coating provides thermal and wear resistance well-suited to cast iron, steel, stainless steel, and hard materials. This is a single-end, centercutting tool with right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where high-performance carbide tooling is required. Primary target workpiece materials are cast iron and steel, with secondary suitability for stainless steel and hard materials. The straight-cylindrical shank (12 mm, h6 tolerance) makes it compatible with standard collet chucks and hydraulic toolholders. The 0.472 inch mill diameter is held to h10 tolerance. Overall length is 83 mm (approximately 3.27 inches), keeping the tool compact for rigidity in tight-tolerance operations.
Designed for milling cast iron and steel as primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability for stainless steel and hard materials. The 12 mm straight shank is compatible with standard collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic toolholders accepting ER or equivalent 12 mm collets.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked state before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended gauge length and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on carbide end mills.
