The GUHRING 9036890030000 is a 6-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding machining environments. Built to Series 3689 specifications, it features a FIREX coating, a 45-degree helix angle, and a right-hand spiral flute configuration. The 0.118-inch (3.00 mm) cutting diameter and 0.315-inch length of cut make it well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes in tight geometries. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is rated for use across multiple workpiece material categories including cast iron and non-ferrous materials (K), stainless steel (M), steel (P), and superalloys (S). It also handles hard and non-ferrous secondary material groups (H and N). The regular-length flute type and straight cylindrical shank with a 0.236-inch (6.00 mm) shank diameter make it compatible with standard collet and end mill holder systems on CNC machining centers and manual mills. It is a single-end tool, so once the cutting end is worn, the tool is replaced rather than flipped.
Designed for use in standard straight-bore collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and end mill holders accepting a 0.236-inch (6.00 mm) shank diameter. Compatible with workpiece materials coded K, M, P, S, H, and N per the GUHRING material classification system.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine control locked out. Use a calibrated torque wrench when tightening collet nuts to the holder manufacturer's specified value. Inspect the shank and bore for chips or contamination before seating the tool, as debris will affect runout and tool life. Confirm correct tool offset and diameter compensation in the CNC controller before starting the cut.
