The GUHRING 9035400080000 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining applications. Built to Series 3540 specifications, this single-end mill features a 0.315 inch (8.00 mm) cutting diameter with a stub-length profile and a 0.354 inch (9.00 mm) length of cut. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the FIREX coating provides enhanced heat and wear resistance for extended tool life in high-speed cutting environments. Three right-hand spiral flutes with centercutting capability allow this tool to plunge, slot, and profile in a single setup. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling professionals.
This end mill is suited for milling cast iron, stainless steel, and steel workpieces in both production and job-shop environments. The stub-length geometry offers increased rigidity, making it well suited for applications where tool deflection must be minimized, such as finish profiling or tight-tolerance slotting. The straight cylindrical shank at 0.315 inch (8.00 mm) diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders. Secondary workpiece material compatibility includes non-ferrous metals and superalloys based on material codes N and S.
Compatible with standard straight-bore end mill holders and ER collet chucks accepting an 8.00 mm (0.315 inch) shank. Rated for primary use in cast iron (K), stainless steel (M), and steel (P) workpiece materials, with secondary compatibility in non-ferrous metals (N) and superalloys (S).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet or holder is torqued to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before each use, and do not exceed the cutter's rated depth-of-cut for the workpiece material being machined.
