The GUHRING 9031550063500 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built on the Series 3155 platform with a FIREX coating, this single-end tool features four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle for efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. It measures 0.25 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length, placing it in the extra-long reach category. The straight-cylindrical shank diameter is 0.25 inches. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in production and job shop environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for milling operations in cast iron, stainless steel, and steel. The centercutting geometry allows for plunge entry as well as conventional and climb milling passes. The extra-long overall length makes it appropriate for applications requiring extended reach into pockets, slots, or stepped features where a standard-length tool cannot reach the workpiece. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC and manual milling machine setups.
Designed for use in standard 0.25-inch straight-bore toolholders, collet chucks, and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Rated for primary workpiece materials including cast iron, stainless steel, and steel, with secondary compatibility noted for non-ferrous and superalloy materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a locked-out, de-energized state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended minimum engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, particularly given the extra-long reach of this tool.
