The GUHRING 9031530190500 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and high-strength materials. It features a 0.75 inch cutting diameter, a 1.5 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length with a straight cylindrical 0.75 inch shank. The four-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting. The FIREX coating provides thermal and wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding applications. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool from the Guhring Series 3153 line, built for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling setups.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on cast iron, stainless steel, and carbon and alloy steels. The center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. It is a regular-length tool appropriate for standard-depth slot cutting, shoulder milling, and profile work in job shop and production environments. The straight shank and h6 shank tolerance ensure accurate, repeatable tool holding in standard ER collets, hydraulic chucks, and shrink-fit holders.
Rated for primary use in cast iron, stainless steel, and steel workpiece materials (ISO material codes K, M, P), with secondary compatibility for non-ferrous and superalloy materials (ISO codes N, S). Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.75 inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the tool holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
