The GUHRING 9031530047600 is a single-end, four-flute square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with FIREX finish, this tool delivers hardness and heat resistance well beyond standard TiN or TiAlN coatings. It carries a 3/16-inch cutting diameter, a 5/8-inch length of cut, and a 2-inch overall length. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard. This end mill is a trade-tier cutting tool intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals on CNC and manual milling equipment.
The 9031530047600 is suited for milling cast iron, stainless steel, and steel workpieces in both roughing and finishing applications where tool rigidity and coating durability are critical. The 3/16-inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard collets and end mill holders without modification. Regular-length geometry makes it appropriate for general-purpose slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in tight-clearance setups. It does not include a chipbreaker, coolant-through capability, variable helix, or variable index, keeping the geometry straightforward for predictable cuts in production environments.
Part of the GUHRING Series 3153. Rated for primary workpiece materials cast iron, stainless steel, and steel (material codes K, M, P), with secondary compatibility for non-ferrous and superalloy materials (material codes N, S).
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges and FIREX coating for chips or wear before each use. Discard and replace the tool if edge integrity is compromised to avoid workpiece damage or tool breakage.
