The GUHRING 9031530039700 is a solid carbide, 4-flute square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 5/32 inch (0.1563 inch) cutting diameter and a 1/2 inch length of cut, this tool is built for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations where tight tolerances are required. The FIREX coating provides enhanced heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in high-speed applications. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This end mill is center-cutting capable, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece material.
This tool is suited for machining cast iron, stainless steel, and steel, covering a range of common shop applications in both production and job-shop settings. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3/16 inch in diameter with an h6 tolerance, providing consistent tool holding in standard collet chucks and end mill holders. The 2 inch overall length and regular-length flute classification make this a practical choice for general-purpose milling work. It is a single-end tool from the GUHRING Series 3153 line.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 3/16 inch cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, stainless steel, and steel. Secondary compatible material codes include N (non-ferrous) and S (heat-resistant superalloys) per the supplier material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet or holder to the recommended grip depth before tightening. Verify runout with an indicator before beginning a cut, and confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter prior to operation.
