The GUHRING 9031530019800 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Part of the Series 3153 line, it features a 5/64 inch (0.0781 inch) cutting diameter and a 1/4 inch length of cut. The FIREX coating improves wear resistance and reduces friction during cutting. With 4 spiral flutes and a 30-degree helix angle, it produces clean chip evacuation and consistent surface finishes. The centercutting design allows plunge entry. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follow standard milling conventions. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop, production, and toolroom environments.
This end mill is suited for milling cast iron, stainless steel, and steel. The straight cylindrical shank measures 1/8 inch in diameter with an h6 tolerance, making it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders in that bore size. The compact 1-1/2 inch overall length keeps the tool stiff and minimizes deflection in close-clearance setups. It is a single-end tool, meaning it is replaced rather than flipped when the cutting end is worn. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant must be applied externally. Applications include slotting, profiling, and contouring on ferrous workpieces.
Designed for use with standard 1/8 inch bore collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines. Rated for primary workpiece materials of cast iron, stainless steel, and steel; secondary workpiece material codes N and S are also listed by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening to avoid runout. Do not use the tool beyond its listed length of cut, as overreach significantly increases deflection and breakage risk with small-diameter carbide tools.
