The GUHRING 9031140127000 is a solid carbide square end mill from the Series 3114 line, designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. This single-end tool features a 0.5 inch diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 3 inch overall length, with a straight cylindrical 0.5 inch shank. The variable helix geometry, with flute angles of 35 and 38 degrees, reduces chatter and promotes smoother cutting. A FIREX coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life. The centercutting design allows for direct plunge entry into the workpiece. Licensed machinists and toolroom operators specify this mill for precision material removal on ferrous and hard-to-machine alloys.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on cast iron, steel, stainless steel, and hard materials in both production shop and toolroom environments. The four-flute spiral configuration supports efficient chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish quality. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The regular length profile fits standard toolholders and collet chucks. It is typically applied in finish milling, slotting, and profiling passes where dimensional accuracy and surface integrity are priorities.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including cast iron and steel, with secondary compatibility for hard materials, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys per material codes K, P, H, M, and S. Fits standard 0.5 inch collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and side-lock toolholders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the tool from the holder. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm concentricity within acceptable limits for the application. Consult the machine manufacturer and applicable shop standards for spindle speed and feed rate parameters before cutting.
