The GUHRING 9031140095200 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining applications. Part of the Series 3114 lineup, this single-end tool features a 0.375-inch mill diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length with a straight cylindrical shank at 0.375 inches in diameter. The FIREX finish provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability, extending tool life in high-heat cutting environments. A variable helix design at 35 and 38 degrees reduces harmonic vibration during cuts, improving surface finish and chip evacuation. This tool is centercutting and runs with a right-hand cut and right-hand flute spiral configuration.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on cast iron and steel as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in hard materials, stainless steel, and other demanding alloys. It is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where a 3/8-inch shank toolholder is available. The regular-length flute profile makes it appropriate for standard-depth slotting, profiling, and contouring operations where extended reach is not required. Machinists working in job shops, production environments, and toolroom settings will find this tool well matched to ferrous and hard-material applications.
Designed for use with standard 3/8-inch straight-shank toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel; secondary materials include hard material and stainless steel. Mill diameter tolerance is h10 and shank diameter tolerance is h6 per Series 3114 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or changing tooling. Use an appropriate collet or end mill holder rated for the 3/8-inch shank diameter and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
