The GUHRING 9031010063500 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precise milling of contoured surfaces, cavities, and profiled features in metalworking applications. Built to Series 3101 specifications, it features a 0.25-inch mill diameter with a 0.125-inch nose radius and a 30-degree helix angle. The FIREX coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability, making this tool well suited for cutting ferrous materials including cast iron. It carries a right-hand cutting and flute direction, an extended reach configuration, and is manufactured to tight h10 mill diameter and h6 shank diameter tolerances. Licensed HVAC techs do not install this — it is a cutting tool for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in precision metal fabrication shops.
This ball end mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where controlled profiling cuts are required. The extended reach design and 0.688-inch reach length allow access to deeper pockets and recessed features without tool interference. Its primary workpiece material classification covers cast iron as well as general steel and hardened materials in the H, K, and P material groups. With a 0.25-inch length of cut and 0.238-inch neck diameter, this tool is optimized for finish passes and light-to-medium roughing in tight geometries. Package quantity is one piece per unit.
Designed as an OEM-specification solid carbide ball end mill in the Guhring Series 3101 product line, suited for standard 0.25-inch tool holders and collet chucks on CNC and manual milling equipment.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians using a compatible collet chuck or end mill holder torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine tool manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut.
