The GUHRING 9030970079400 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Part of the GUHRING Series 3097, it features a FIREX finish that improves wear resistance and extends tool life under demanding cutting conditions. The 4-flute, fine-pitch geometry with a 30-degree helix delivers smooth chip evacuation and stable cutting action. At 5/16 inch in diameter with a 13/16 inch length of cut, this tool is well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling passes where dimensional accuracy is critical. Licensed machinists and toolroom operators working in CNC and manual milling setups will find this a reliable production-grade choice.
This end mill is used in general-purpose machining environments including job shops, tool-and-die operations, and production machining cells. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry, expanding its use in ramping, helical interpolation, and pocketing applications. The right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional vertical and horizontal milling machines as well as CNC machining centers. The 5/16 inch shank diameter and 2-1/2 inch overall length fit standard collets and end mill holders without adaptation in most setups.
Designed as an OEM-style production end mill for use with standard 5/16 inch collets, end mill holders, and toolholding systems on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Part of the GUHRING Series 3097 regular-length end mill line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with toolholding torque procedures and runout verification. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and verify axial runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Avoid side-loading the tool during plunge entry beyond the rated chip load for the material being machined.
