The GUHRING 9030790127060 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built to Series 3079 standards, it features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 1.25 inch length of cut, and a 0.062 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge. The variable helix and variable index geometry help break up harmonics and reduce chatter during aggressive cuts. A FIREX coating provides thermal resistance and oxidation protection, extending tool life in abrasive workpiece materials. This is a single-end, right-hand cutting tool with a Weldon flat shank for positive drive in end mill holders.
This end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing operations on steel, cast iron, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The 3.5 inch overall length and 0.5 inch shank diameter make it a practical choice for standard vertical machining center setups and manual milling machines. It is intended for use with end mill holders and is appropriate for shops running production work or toolroom operations where corner radius geometry is required for part features or edge strength. The Weldon flat shank accommodates side-lock holders common in production environments.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders accepting a 0.5 inch Weldon flat shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel and cast iron; secondary materials include stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per material codes P, K, M, S, and H.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out. Ensure the end mill holder is clean and free of chips before seating the Weldon flat shank, and torque the set screw to the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate corner radius wear and degrade part geometry. Refer to the machine tool builder guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting depth of cut and feed rates.
