The GUHRING 9030790079440 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built to Series 3079 specifications, it features a 0.313-inch (5/16-inch) mill diameter, a 0.031-inch corner radius, and four flutes with a variable helix and variable index geometry. The FIREX coating provides elevated heat and wear resistance during aggressive cuts. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 0.813-inch length of cut, this single-end tool is suited for both roughing and finishing operations in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists are the primary users.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling applications where a corner radius profile is required to reduce stress concentrations at part edges and extend tool life. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. It fits into standard end mill holders with a 5/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank. The variable helix geometry reduces harmonic vibration and chatter, making it well suited for finishing passes on stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hardened materials where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are critical.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders accepting a 5/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary use on steel and cast iron and secondary use on stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per supplier material application codes P, K, M, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the shank fully within the end mill holder to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth before running the spindle. Confirm spindle direction matches the right-hand cutting orientation of this tool before operation. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as carbide tooling can fail without visible warning if impacted.
