The GUHRING 9030770079400 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.313-inch mill diameter, a 0.813-inch length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length, this tool is built for accuracy in tight-tolerance work. The variable helix geometry — alternating between 40 and 42 degrees — reduces harmonic vibration during cutting, improving surface finish and extending tool life. The bright uncoated finish suits applications where coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern. Four spiral flutes with right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction support efficient chip evacuation in a range of materials.
This end mill fits general-purpose milling operations across job shops, production machining, and tool-and-die environments. It is classified under primary workpiece material code N, indicating suitability for non-ferrous metals, aluminum, brass, bronze, and similar materials. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.3125-inch diameter seats directly into standard ER collets, end mill holders, or hydraulic chucks. Its regular-length designation and center-cutting capability allow both peripheral and plunge milling without a pre-drilled entry point. Series 3077 from GUHRING covers high-performance solid carbide end mills for demanding shop floor conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill for use in standard end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and hydraulic chucks accepting a 5/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of GUHRING Series 3077.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety protocols. Verify holder bore cleanliness and collet condition before seating the shank to maintain runout within acceptable limits. Torque retention hardware to holder manufacturer specifications — do not estimate torque by feel. Confirm spindle RPM and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
