The GUHRING 9029010030000 is a spiral point tap designed for through-hole threading in metric M3 x 0.5 applications. Built from powdered metal and finished with a TiCN coating, this tap is engineered for cutting threads in special and super titanium alloys where tool wear and heat resistance are critical concerns. It features a plug chamfer, 3 flutes, and a right-hand thread direction. With a 6H thread class of fit and a D2/D3 thread limit, it delivers consistent, tolerance-controlled threads suitable for precision assemblies. This tap is intended for through-hole threading operations on hard-to-machine materials, specifically special and super titanium alloys. Because coolant-through is not available, adequate external coolant flow is required to manage heat buildup when cutting titanium alloys. Inspect the tap for wear or chipping before each use, as hard alloy materials accelerate edge degradation.
