The GUHRING 9027920120050 is a spiral flute tap designed for blind hole threading in metalworking applications. Built from cobalt high-speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it cuts M12 x 1.00 metric fine threads to a 6H class of fit. The bottoming chamfer allows threading close to the bottom of a blind hole, making it suitable for tight-tolerance work. With a 40-degree helix angle and fast flute style, the tap evacuates chips efficiently in interrupted or deep blind-hole cuts. Overall length is 100 millimeters, shank diameter is 9 millimeters, and the square drive measures 7 millimeters. Thread limit is D4/D5. This tap is intended for use by machinists and toolroom technicians requiring precise metric fine threads.
This tap is rated for alloyed and unalloyed steel and is suited for production and maintenance machining environments where metric fine threads are required in blind holes. The right-hand flute and right-hand thread configuration cover standard fastener geometry. It is appropriate for CNC machining centers, drill presses with tapping attachments, and manual tapping operations where controlled feed is maintained. Coolant-through capability is not included in this design; external coolant or cutting fluid applied at the entry point is recommended for tool life in steel.
Designed for threading alloyed and unalloyed steel in blind hole applications. Fits standard tapping chucks and holders accepting a 9 millimeter shank with a 7 millimeter square drive. Part of GUHRING Series 2792.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the tap in a properly sized tapping chuck or holder before operation, and ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped before changing tooling. Apply an appropriate cutting fluid for steel to extend tool life and maintain thread quality. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines when setting feed rates and spindle speeds for tapping operations.
