The GUHRING 9026010043000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding production environments. Built on GUHRING Series 2601, it features a submicron carbide grade for wear resistance and edge retention at elevated cutting speeds. The 130-degree split point with web thinning reduces entry thrust and helps the bit self-center without a pilot hole. With an overall length of 3.25 inches and a parabolic flute geometry, this bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators running high-speed drilling cycles on aluminum and similar non-ferrous and ferrous workpiece materials.
This drill bit is sized to wire gauge No. 18, equivalent to 0.1695 inch decimal diameter, placing it in the 0.150 to 0.200 inch range. It is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine setups where tight hole tolerances are required. The primary workpiece material classification covers aluminum (K), non-ferrous materials (N), and standard structural steels and cast irons (P), making it broadly useful across general machining, aerospace fabrication, and light manufacturing operations. The parabolic flute profile improves chip evacuation in deeper holes up to the rated maximum drilling depth.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines accepting a straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.1693-inch shank diameter, conforming to ANSI standards for jobber-length drill bits in the 0.150 to 0.200 inch size range.
Installation of this drill bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the shank fully in a collet, drill chuck, or toolholder rated for the shank diameter before initiating any spindle rotation. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production use, as excess runout accelerates carbide fatigue and edge chipping. Carbide tooling is brittle compared to high-speed steel; avoid impact loading, interrupted cuts beyond the tool rating, and over-tightening that can stress the shank.
