The GUHRING 9024640111100 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in non-ferrous and light-alloy materials. Built to DIN specification in the Series 2464 platform, it features a 118-degree faceted point, a FIREX coating for thermal resistance and extended tool life, and a web-thinned tip geometry that reduces thrust force at entry. The 7/16-inch (0.4375-inch) diameter shank is straight-cylindrical with a shank diameter of 11.11 mm. Overall length is 5.59 inches (142 mm), with a flute length of 3.70 inches (94 mm). This bit is suited for use in machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools where carbide rigidity is required.
Primary application is drilling aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials classified under material code N. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in deeper hole applications. Maximum drilling depth reaches 3.045 inches (77.34 mm), making this bit appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole operations in production and maintenance environments. The right-hand spiral flute with regular spiral type suits general-purpose use across light manufacturing, aerospace component work, and mechanical maintenance tasks. Installation is performed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose carbide drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank; primary workpiece material compatibility is aluminum and non-ferrous alloys per material code N.
This bit is installed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a properly sized drill chuck or collet rated for carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Solid carbide bits are brittle and should not be used in applications with significant lateral load or runout — verify chuck and spindle runout are within acceptable limits before use. Coolant-through capability is not supported on this bit, so external coolant or cutting fluid application should be used when drilling at depth to manage chip load and heat buildup.
