The GUHRING 9024640066300 is a jobber length drill bit sized to Letter G (0.261 inches) and manufactured from solid carbide with a FIREX coating. It is designed for general-purpose drilling in non-ferrous and light-alloy materials, including aluminum. The 118-degree faceted point and web-thinned geometry reduce entry force and improve centering without a pilot hole. With an overall length of 3.98 inches and a spiral flute length of 2.48 inches, this bit fits standard drill chucks via its straight-cylindrical shank. It is installed by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and skilled tradespeople working with precision drilling applications.
This drill bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling in aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials where dimensional accuracy and tool life are priorities. The Series 2464 designation follows DIN specification standards. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip clearance for moderate-depth holes up to a maximum drilling depth of 2.089 inches. It is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools where a straight-cylindrical shank is compatible.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber length drill bit per DIN specification, Series 2464, intended for use in drilling aluminum and non-ferrous materials (Primary Workpiece Material Code N) with any machine tool or hand tool accepting a straight-cylindrical shank.
This bit should be installed by qualified machinists or tradespeople familiar with carbide tooling. Carbide is brittle compared to high-speed steel; avoid side-loading or impact that can chip the cutting edge. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the collet or chuck before operation, and confirm the tool is running true before engaging the workpiece. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit, so external coolant or mist lubrication is recommended when drilling at higher feed rates.
