The GUHRING 9024640027800 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for precision drilling in non-ferrous and aluminum workpiece materials. Finished with a FIREX coating, this 7/64 inch (0.1094 inch) diameter bit delivers improved surface hardness and heat resistance compared to uncoated carbide. It features a 118-degree faceted point, a web-thinned tip to reduce thrust and improve centering, and a standard right-hand spiral flute configuration. Overall length is 2.4 inches with a flute length of 1.3 inches. Licensed HVAC, mechanical, and general trade professionals using precision carbide tooling in production or field fabrication settings will recognize the Series 2464 as a purpose-built general-purpose drilling solution.
This drill bit is suited for drilling aluminum and other non-ferrous materials in light manufacturing, HVAC fabrication, and trade shop environments. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 1.135 inches, it handles typical jobber-depth applications in sheet metal, extrusions, and cast non-ferrous components. The regular spiral type promotes consistent chip evacuation during through-hole drilling operations. It is sold and packaged individually.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber length drill bit suitable for use in standard drill chucks, CNC machining centers, and collet holders accepting a 2.78 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material code N indicates suitability for non-ferrous metals including aluminum.
Solid carbide drill bits should be installed and operated by trained machinists or trade professionals familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Ensure the drill chuck or collet is clean, undamaged, and properly torqued before operation. Carbide is brittle relative to high-speed steel — avoid side-loading or using in handheld drills where lateral deflection can cause tip fracture. Coolant-through capability is not available on this bit; apply external lubrication or cutting fluid as appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
