The GUHRING 9024640016100 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit in wire gauge size 52 (0.0635 inches decimal equivalent) with a 118-degree faceted point angle and a FIREX coating. Manufactured to DIN specification from K40 carbide grade, it features a two-flute regular spiral design and a web-thinned point for improved chip evacuation and entry precision. The overall length is 1.69 inches (43 mm), with a flute length of 0.79 inches (20 mm) and a straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 1.61 mm. Installation is performed by machinists and tool-room technicians in production or maintenance drilling applications.
This drill bit is engineered for general-purpose drilling in non-ferrous materials, with aluminum listed as the primary workpiece material (material code N). The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports controlled chip removal in shallow to moderate depth holes. Maximum drilling depth is 0.693 inches (17.59 mm). The straight-cylindrical shank suits standard drill chucks and collet holders across a range of machine tools including CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power drills where rigid fixturing is maintained. Sold individually, it fits within the 0.050 to 0.100 inch drill bit size range of the GUHRING Series 2464 family.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders that accept a 1.61 mm straight-cylindrical shank, across CNC and manual machine tools suited for non-ferrous material drilling.
This bit is installed by machinists in a properly sized chuck or collet holder; ensure the shank is fully seated and the holding device is rated for the spindle speed being used. Secure workpieces firmly before drilling to prevent deflection on small-diameter bits. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be dropped or subjected to side-loading beyond the rated application. Inspect the cutting edges and coating before each use and replace when chipping or excessive wear is observed.
