The GUHRING 9024630111100 is a solid carbide stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding production environments. Ground to a 118-degree faceted point with web thinning, it cuts right-hand with a regular spiral flute and delivers consistent hole quality in aluminum and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. At 3.74 inches overall length with a 1.85-inch flute and a maximum drilling depth of 1.194 inches, it fits standard straight-cylindrical chucks and collets. Diameter tolerance is held to +0.000 to -0.010 mm, making it suitable for applications where close hole sizing matters. Part of the GUHRING Series 2463, it conforms to DIN 6539 and is built to K40 carbide grade.
This drill bit is sized at 7/16 inch (0.4375 inches) diameter and is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine setups where a shorter, stiffer stub-length tool reduces deflection. Its primary workpiece material rating is aluminum, though the K40 solid carbide construction and coated finish make it applicable across a range of general-purpose production drilling tasks. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and web-thinned point reduce thrust and improve chip evacuation in shallow-to-moderate depth holes.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or direct-use solid carbide stub drill for general-purpose production drilling applications in aluminum and similar materials, compatible with any machine spindle or chuck accepting a straight-cylindrical shank at 11.11 mm shank diameter.
Installation and use of carbide drill bits should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with speeds, feeds, and runout tolerances for carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle and chuck or collet are clean and within runout spec before seating the shank, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to side loading. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; external coolant or mist lubrication is recommended where applicable.
