The GUHRING 9024630098000 is a solid carbide, screw machine length (stub) drill bit designed for precision drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Built to DIN 6539 standards, it features a 0.386 inch (Letter W) diameter, a 118-degree faceted drill point, and a web-thinned tip geometry that reduces entry force and improves centering accuracy. The coated finish extends tool life in demanding cutting environments. With a straight-cylindrical shank and right-hand spiral flute configuration, this bit is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine setups where stub-length rigidity and close-tolerance performance are required.
This drill bit is optimized for drilling aluminum as its primary workpiece material and is rated for general-purpose tool performance across a range of non-ferrous and light ferrous applications. The stub length design limits deflection and improves hole straightness in short-depth drilling operations. It is commonly used in production machining environments, job shops, and tool rooms where consistent, repeatable hole quality is critical. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip clearance for most general drilling cycles without through-coolant, which is not supported by this tool.
Designed as a general-purpose stub-length drill bit for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines accepting a straight-cylindrical shank with a 9.80 mm shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully powered down and locked out. Ensure the chuck or collet is sized for the straight-cylindrical shank diameter and that the bit is fully seated and secured before operation. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before each use, as carbide tooling is brittle and can chip if dropped or mishandled. Follow the machine manufacturer and applicable shop safety guidelines for speeds and feeds when drilling aluminum or other workpiece materials.
