The GUHRING 9024630057000 is a solid carbide, screw machine length (stub) drill bit designed for high-precision drilling in demanding shop and production environments. Measuring 0.2244 inches (5.70 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 2.598 inches (66.00 mm), this bit features a 118-degree faceted point angle and a web-thinned tip geometry that reduces entry thrust and improves hole accuracy. The coated finish extends tool life by reducing heat buildup and edge wear. It is installed by machinists and tool-and-die tradespeople on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines requiring short, rigid tooling setups.
This drill bit is rated for general-purpose drilling with a primary workpiece material of aluminum, though the solid carbide K40 grade substrate and DIN 6539 construction support use across a broad range of non-ferrous and light ferrous materials. The stub-length body limits deflection during high-speed drilling passes, making it well suited for tight-tolerance production work where hole location and diameter consistency are critical. Maximum drilling depth is 0.766 inches (19.45 mm), with a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio that aids chip evacuation in shallow-to-moderate depth applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct production substitute for stub-length carbide drill bits in the 0.2000 to 0.2500 inch (5.00 to 6.50 mm) diameter range, conforming to DIN 6539 standards. Part of the GUHRING Series 2463.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle and collet or chuck are fully de-energized and locked out before changing tooling. Verify the straight-cylindrical shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the collet to the machine manufacturer's specification. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 0.766 inches without retracting to clear chips, particularly when drilling aluminum or other gummy alloys.
