The GUHRING 9024630055000 is a solid carbide stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for precision drilling in production and machining environments. It measures 5.50 mm (0.2165 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 66.00 mm (2.598 inches) and a flute length of 28.00 mm (1.102 inches). The 118-degree faceted point angle and web-thinned geometry reduce entry force and improve centering accuracy. With a 2-flute regular spiral configuration and a straight-cylindrical shank, this bit is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automatic screw machines. It is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working to close tolerances.
This drill bit is rated for general-purpose drilling with a primary workpiece material designation of aluminum, though the solid carbide K40 grade construction supports use in a range of non-ferrous and light ferrous materials. The stub-length body provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, reducing deflection in short, accurate hole applications. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and maximum drilling depth of 19.75 mm (0.778 inches) make it well suited for shallow precision holes in production runs, fixture work, and component manufacturing.
Designed as a general-purpose stub-length carbide drill bit conforming to DIN 6539 standards, compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 5.50 mm shank diameter.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck or collet are clean and undamaged before seating the shank; carbide is brittle and sensitive to side-loading or improper seating. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Do not use this bit for interrupted cuts or in conditions that exceed the tool rating, as carbide bits can fracture under shock loading.
