The GUHRING 9024630042000 is a solid carbide stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for precision drilling in aluminum and similar non-ferrous materials. Measuring 4.20 mm (0.1654 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 55.00 mm (2.165 inches), this bit features a 118-degree faceted point, a web-thinned tip for reduced thrust and improved chip evacuation, and a two-flute regular spiral design. Its straight-cylindrical shank allows direct mounting in standard drill chucks and collet holders. Manufactured to DIN 6539 standards from K40-grade carbide, it delivers consistent dimensional accuracy with a diameter tolerance of +0.000 to -0.010 mm.
This drill bit is suited for production and maintenance applications where compact tool length and rigidity are required. The stub flute length of 22.00 mm (0.866 inches) limits deflection, making it well-matched to CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automated screw machine operations. Primary target workpiece material is aluminum. It carries a maximum drilling depth rating of 15.70 mm (0.618 inches) and falls within the Series 2463 general-purpose stub drill family. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip clearance without sacrificing stiffness.
Designed as a general-purpose stub-length drill for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 4.20 mm straight-cylindrical shank; optimized for aluminum as the primary workpiece material.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a powered-off, locked-out state per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the shank fully within the chuck or collet to the recommended grip depth before operation. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 15.70 mm (0.618 inches) in a single pass without retracting to clear chips. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to damage from side loading or interrupted cuts.
