The GUHRING 9024630030500 is a stub-length (screw machine length) solid carbide drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding shop and field applications. Ground to a 118-degree faceted point with web thinning, this two-flute right-hand cut bit delivers clean entry and efficient chip evacuation in a compact 1.929-inch overall length. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3.05 mm in diameter, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems. At 0.12 inches (wire size 31), it falls within the 0.1000 to 0.1500 inch diameter range covered by the Series 2463 lineup, built to DIN 6539 standards with a K40 carbide grade for consistent dimensional accuracy.
This bit is suited for general-purpose drilling in aluminum and similar non-ferrous materials, though the K40 solid carbide construction also handles many ferrous alloys at appropriate feeds and speeds. The stub-length body reduces deflection in short-reach applications, making it a practical choice for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held pneumatic tools where rigidity matters. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 0.709-inch flute length support a maximum drilling depth of 0.529 inches without coolant-through capability, so external coolant or lubrication is standard practice for production runs.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose stub drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and pneumatic drills accepting a straight-cylindrical shank; primary workpiece material is aluminum per DIN 6539 Series 2463 specification.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tool-and-die technicians familiar with cutting tool setup procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling, and verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before drilling to protect both the bit and workpiece. External coolant or cutting lubricant is recommended for production drilling since this bit does not support coolant-through operation. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and spindle speed selection based on workpiece material.
