The GUHRING 9024630027000 is a stub-length (screw machine length) solid carbide drill bit designed for precision drilling in production and machining environments. With a 0.1063-inch (2.70 mm) diameter and a 118-degree faceted point angle, this bit delivers accurate hole entry and clean cutting action. The two-flute spiral design with web thinning reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. At 1.811 inches overall length, the compact stub format provides added rigidity for minimizing deflection in short-reach drilling applications. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and tool-and-die technicians are the primary installers of this type of tooling.
This drill bit is suited for general-purpose drilling in aluminum and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. The stub length format is common in screw machine operations, CNC machining centers, and manual mill setups where rigidity and hole location accuracy are priorities. With a maximum drilling depth of 0.470 inches (11.95 mm) and a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio, it is intended for shallow-to-moderate depth holes where chip clearing and bit stability are critical. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks and collets sized for 0.1063-inch shank diameter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for screw machine and CNC machining applications requiring a 0.1063-inch solid carbide stub drill conforming to DIN 6539 specifications. Compatible with any drill chuck or collet accepting a 2.70 mm straight cylindrical shank.
This tooling is installed and changed by machinists or CNC operators following standard machine lockout and tooling-change procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Solid carbide bits are brittle and should not be used in hand-held drills or flex-shaft tools where lateral loading is likely. Use appropriate cutting fluid or mist coolant when drilling aluminum to extend tool life, even though this bit does not support through-coolant delivery.
