The GUHRING 9024630023800 is a solid carbide stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for precision hole-making in aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. It features a FIREX coating for improved wear resistance and heat reduction during cutting. The 118-degree faceted drill point and web-thinned, tapered web geometry reduce entry force and improve chip evacuation. With a 3/32-inch (0.0938 inch) diameter and a regular spiral flute, this bit delivers consistent, repeatable results in production and maintenance drilling applications. It conforms to DIN 6539 standards and is manufactured from DK120 grade solid carbide.
This drill bit is suited for production machining environments, toolroom work, and precision drilling in aluminum and similar workpiece materials. The stub-length design provides increased rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it well-suited for short-hole drilling on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines where minimizing deflection is a priority. Its straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collets and drill chucks without modification.
Designed as a general-purpose stub-length carbide drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 2.38 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is aluminum; compatible with other non-ferrous and soft materials per the Series 2463 general-purpose grade designation.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the chuck or collet is properly torqued before operating. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loads, interrupted cuts beyond the tool's rated capacity, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
