The GUHRING 9024630015900 is a solid carbide stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for precision drilling in aluminum and similar non-ferrous materials. At 0.0625 inches (1/16 inch) in diameter, this bit features a 118-degree faceted point angle and a web-thinned geometry that reduces entry force and improves centering accuracy. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. With an overall length of 1.339 inches and a flute length of 0.394 inches, the short stub profile provides superior rigidity, minimizing deflection and runout in tight-tolerance applications. It conforms to DIN 6539 standards and is manufactured to a K40 carbide material grade.
This drill bit is suited for machine shop, production drilling, and maintenance environments where small-diameter holes are required in aluminum and other general-purpose workpiece materials. The stub-length body makes it especially effective in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turret lathes where overhang must be minimized. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and spiral flute design promote chip evacuation in short-depth holes up to 0.300 inches deep. It is sold individually and is appropriate for machinists, toolmakers, and industrial maintenance technicians.
Designed as an OEM-specification stub-length drill bit conforming to DIN 6539, suitable for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turret lathes equipped with standard collet or drill-chuck toolholding systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank of 1.59 mm diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Always ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing or inspecting tooling. Carbide is brittle — avoid side-loading, interrupted cuts, or impacts that can cause chipping or breakage at this diameter. Verify runout and chuck condition before use, as excessive runout accelerates wear and increases the risk of bit fracture in small diameters.
