The GUHRING 9024630011800 is a stub-length (screw machine length) solid carbide drill bit designed for precision drilling in tight-clearance applications. Built to DIN 6539 standards and manufactured from K40 carbide grade, this bit features a 118-degree faceted point angle with web thinning for improved centering and reduced thrust force. The two-flute spiral design paired with a straight-cylindrical shank makes it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet toolholders. At 0.0465 inches in diameter, it is suited for small-diameter work where rigidity and dimensional accuracy are critical. Machinists, tool and die professionals, and CNC operators are the primary users.
This drill bit is engineered for use in aluminum as its primary workpiece material and is well suited to general-purpose machining operations where short flute length provides added stiffness and reduces deflection. The stub length body keeps the tool compact, making it effective for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine setups where tool overhang must be minimized. The coated finish supports extended tool life in production environments. Maximum drilling depth is 0.206 inches, and the flute-to-diameter ratio is 3xD.
Designed as a general-purpose stub-length carbide drill bit compatible with standard straight-shank collet chucks and drill chucks sized for a 1.18 mm shank diameter, suitable for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine setups handling small-diameter holes in aluminum and similar non-ferrous materials.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians familiar with small-diameter tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Confirm the collet or chuck bore matches the 1.18 mm shank diameter to prevent runout and tool breakage. At this diameter, excessive feed rates or misalignment will result in bit failure — follow the machine manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for solid carbide stub drills in the target material.
