The GUHRING 9014520055000 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for precise, self-centering drilling in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 6539 standards, this 5.5 mm diameter bit features a 150-degree point angle and a three-flute spiral configuration that promotes efficient chip evacuation and improved hole quality over standard two-flute designs. The submicron carbide grade delivers the hardness and wear resistance needed for drilling hard or abrasive materials. Overall length is 66 mm (2.598 inches) with a flute length of 39 mm (1.535 inches). The bright, uncoated finish suits applications where coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern.
This drill bit is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production drilling fixtures where tight tolerances and consistent hole quality are required. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard collet chucks and drill chucks. The self-centering point geometry reduces the need for a center punch or spot drill in many setups. Maximum recommended drilling depth is 30.75 mm (1.21 inches), making it appropriate for through-holes and moderate-depth blind holes in steels, cast irons, and similar hard materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this bit.
Designed as an OEM-specification jobber length drill bit conforming to DIN 6539 for use in standard straight-shank toolholding systems on CNC and manual drilling equipment.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck or collet are clean and free of runout before seating the shank. Carbide is brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts beyond the tool's rated capacity, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Set appropriate feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material before beginning the cut.
