The GUHRING 9014520053000 is a solid submicron carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for precision hole-making in demanding materials. Built to DIN 6539 standards, it features a 150-degree split point with web thinning for self-centering entry without a center punch. The three-flute spiral design improves chip evacuation and surface finish compared to standard two-flute geometry. At 5.3 mm in diameter with a 2.44-inch overall length, this drill is sized for tight-tolerance work where dimensional accuracy is critical. The bright, uncoated finish is suitable for dry cutting or use with cutting fluid in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This drill bit is suited for production and precision machining environments where hole position accuracy and repeatability are required. The self-centering 150-degree point eliminates walk on flat and curved surfaces, making it practical for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools in metalworking, toolroom, and maintenance applications. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collets and drill chucks. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling to a maximum depth of approximately 1.07 inches in a single pass without parabolic or extended-reach geometry.
Designed as a DIN 6539 Series 1452 jobber-length drill bit for use in standard straight-shank collets and drill chucks accepting a 0.2087-inch shank diameter, suitable for CNC machining centers and conventional drilling equipment.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Carbide is brittle and more sensitive to side-loading and interrupted cuts than high-speed steel; secure workpieces firmly before drilling to prevent deflection or chipping. Confirm chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before use, as excessive runout accelerates wear and can fracture carbide. Inspect the cutting edge before each use and replace at the first sign of chipping or dulling.
