The GUHRING 9014520050000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to DIN 6539 standards, this 5 mm diameter bit features a submicron carbide grade for increased hardness and edge retention compared to standard carbide formulations. The 3-flute spiral configuration with a 150-degree point angle promotes self-centering on entry, reducing the need for a center punch in many setups. The web-thinned, tapered web design lowers thrust requirements and improves chip evacuation. With a bright uncoated finish, the bit is suited for dry cutting or use with light cutting fluids in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This drill bit is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes across metalworking, toolroom, and production environments. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard ER collets and drill chucks sized for 5 mm shanks. The Series 1452 designation places this bit in a short-to-medium flute-length category, with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio suited for through-hole and blind-hole drilling to a maximum depth of 27.50 mm. Machinists, tool and die makers, and precision fabricators are the primary users of this type of tooling.
Designed as a DIN 6539 jobber-length drill bit compatible with standard ER collet chucks, Jacobs-style drill chucks, and other toolholders accepting a 5 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Fits machining setups specified for the GUHRING Series 1452 line.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with carbide tooling handling procedures. Carbide is brittle — avoid lateral loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed compensation, or impact contact that can cause chipping. Confirm spindle runout is within acceptable limits before use, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tools. Always verify maximum drilling depth against the 27.50 mm rated limit before programming the tool path.
