The GUHRING 9012430095200 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. Built from submicron solid carbide and coated with titanium nitride (TiN), this bit delivers extended tool life and reduced wear compared to standard HSS tooling. It measures 3/8 inch (0.3750 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree split-point (SU) tip geometry and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration for self-centering entry without a center punch. Overall length is 105 mm with a 60 mm flute length. This drill is installed by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and experienced tradespeople working with ferrous metals and cast iron components.
This bit is rated for primary workpiece materials including cast iron and steel (material grade codes K and P). The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute design support chip evacuation during deep-hole operations. Maximum drilling depth is 45.72 mm (1.8000 inches). It uses a straight-cylindrical shank with a shank diameter of 3/8 inch and a shank length of 45 mm, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders. Coolant-through capability is not included in this configuration. This bit suits production drilling, maintenance, and fabrication environments where consistent hole quality in ferrous materials is required.
Designed for drilling cast iron and steel workpieces (material grade codes K and P). Fits any drill press, CNC machining center, or handheld drill with a chuck capacity accommodating a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank. No dedicated coolant-through spindle required.
This drill bit is installed by machinists and metalworking tradespeople using standard drill chucks or collet tool holders. Secure workpieces firmly before drilling to prevent movement and bit damage. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed rate management, and dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Follow machine manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for carbide tooling in the specific workpiece material.
