Product Description

The GUHRING 9010180063500 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for demanding metal drilling applications where standard high-speed steel bits fall short. Built to DIN 338 standards, this bit features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and cutting force at entry, making it well-suited for hard and abrasive materials. The parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation, reducing heat buildup and extending tool life. At 0.250 inches (6.35 mm) in diameter with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, it delivers consistent hole quality in production and field environments. Licensed tradespeople and machine operators rely on this series for high-cycle drilling in aluminum, titanium alloy, and similar materials.

This drill bit is used in applications involving aluminum and titanium alloy workpieces, as designated by material codes K, M, N, P, and S. It is a right-hand cut tool with a straight-cylindrical shank and oxide finish, suited for use in standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld power drills with compatible chucks. The overall length of 101 mm (approximately 3.98 inches) and shank length of 38 mm (approximately 1.50 inches) make it compatible with standard jobber-length toolholders. Coolant-through capability is not included in this configuration.

Key Features

  • Cobalt construction for improved heat and wear resistance over standard HSS bits
  • 135-degree split point reduces thrust force and eliminates the need for a center punch on most metals
  • Parabolic flute profile promotes fast, clean chip evacuation during deep drilling
  • Web-thinned geometry lowers cutting resistance and improves cutting efficiency
  • Oxide finish provides baseline corrosion resistance and reduces friction at the cutting edge
  • Built to DIN 338 standard for consistent dimensional accuracy and interchangeability

Compatibility

Designed for drilling aluminum and titanium alloy workpieces (material codes K, M, N, P, S) using standard jobber-length toolholding systems. The straight-cylindrical shank at 6.35 mm diameter fits conventional drill chucks and collet holders sized for 1/4 inch or 6.35 mm shanks.

Installation Notes

Install and remove this bit only after the spindle has come to a complete stop and power has been isolated from the machine. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet holder before operation to prevent runout and premature wear. Maximum drilling depth for this configuration is 2.106 inches (53.48 mm); do not exceed this depth without retracting to clear chips. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
