The GUHRING 9007690079400 is a solid carbide straight-flute die drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in aluminum, aluminum alloys, and cast iron. Built to Series 769 specs, this bit measures 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) in diameter with a 120-degree point angle, a two-flute right-hand cutting configuration, and through-coolant capability via a round coolant hole. The submicron carbide grade provides the wear resistance and edge retention required for production drilling in non-ferrous and ferrous materials. The web-thinned geometry reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals, this bit is a direct fit for CNC machining centers and drill presses where coolant delivery and tight diameter tolerances are critical.
This drill bit is suited for production drilling operations in aluminum, aluminum alloys, and cast iron in both industrial and job-shop environments. The 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling to a maximum depth of 2.523 inches (64.09 mm), making it appropriate for deep-hole applications where chip clearance and coolant flow are essential. The uncoated finish is well suited to aluminum where coatings can cause built-up edge. Operators working with CNC machining centers will benefit from the DIN 6535HA shank standard, which ensures consistent tool holding across compatible collets and chucks.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with DIN 6535HA-compatible tool holders. Primary workpiece materials are aluminum and aluminum alloys (material code K, N); secondary materials include cast iron.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm the tool holder accepts a DIN 6535HA shank before mounting. Connect coolant lines per machine manufacturer specifications before initiating a drilling cycle. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 2.523 inches without verifying chip clearance and coolant flow.
