The GUHRING 9007320050600 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit in wire size 8 (0.1992 inches), built for general-purpose drilling in aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. It carries a 118-degree faceted point angle with web thinning to reduce thrust and improve centering at entry. The two-flute spiral design with a regular helix promotes efficient chip evacuation. Overall length is 86 millimeters (approximately 3.39 inches) with a flute length of 52 millimeters (approximately 2.05 inches). The bright, uncoated finish makes it easy to inspect for wear. Series 732 from Guhring is a DIN-specification general-purpose carbide drill line used across production and maintenance applications.
This bit is suited for drilling aluminum, non-ferrous alloys, and similar materials coded N under standard material classification. The straight-cylindrical shank diameter is 5.06 millimeters (0.1992 inches), compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders used on drill presses, machining centers, and hand-held power tools. Maximum drilling depth is 44.41 millimeters (1.748 inches), consistent with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both shop production use and field maintenance work performed by machinists, millwrights, and HVAC or plumbing technicians drilling non-ferrous material.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber length drill bit for use in standard three-jaw drill chucks and ER-series collet holders accepting a 5.06-millimeter straight-cylindrical shank. Optimized for aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials per Series 732 DIN specification.
Solid carbide drill bits are brittle compared to high-speed steel and require secure, runout-minimized chuck or collet holding to prevent breakage. Always confirm the chuck or collet is rated for the shank diameter before seating the bit. When drilling aluminum, use appropriate cutting fluid or mist to manage heat and prevent built-up edge on the flutes. Inspect the point and flute edges before each use and replace the bit at the first sign of chipping.
