The GUHRING 9007300063000 is a solid carbide screw machine length (stub) drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding shop and production environments. Built to DIN 6539 standards, this Series 730 bit features a 0.248-inch (letter size E) diameter, a 118-degree faceted point angle, and a web-thinned tip that reduces entry force and improves hole start accuracy. The micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and wear resistance required for consistent performance in aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. It is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automatic screw machines where tight tolerances and repeatable results are required.
This bit is rated for general purpose drilling with a primary workpiece material designation of aluminum. The stub length format keeps the tool rigid and minimizes deflection in short-reach applications. With a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 0.848 inches (21.55 mm), it is well matched to production drilling, fixture work, and close-tolerance hole operations in light metal components. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification.
Designed as a general purpose stub-length carbide drill bit per DIN 6539, compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 6.30 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automatic screw machines.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tool-and-die professionals familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized collet or drill chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed adjustments, or dropping the bit. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate when drilling aluminum or non-ferrous stock.
