The GUHRING 9007300059000 is a stub-length (screw machine length) solid carbide drill bit designed for precise, high-speed drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Built to DIN 6539 standards, it features a 0.2323-inch (5.90 mm) diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank and a faceted 118-degree drill point. The micrograin carbide construction and web-thinned tip reduce thrust and improve hole entry accuracy. With a regular spiral flute, right-hand cut, and bright uncoated finish, this bit is suited for general-purpose drilling where clean, accurate holes are the priority. It is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This drill bit is engineered as a general-purpose tool with aluminum listed as the primary workpiece material, though its DIN 6539 solid carbide construction makes it well suited for a range of non-ferrous and soft ferrous materials in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills. The stub-length body provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, reducing deflection in shallow to moderate depth holes. Maximum drilling depth is 0.754 inches (19.15 mm), making it appropriate for through-holes and shallow blind holes in production settings.
Designed as a general-purpose stub-length carbide drill bit conforming to DIN 6539, compatible with standard straight-shank tool holders and drill chucks accepting a 5.90 mm shank diameter. Part of GUHRING Series 730.
This bit is installed by machinists in CNC machining centers, drill presses, or manual milling machines using a standard drill chuck or collet holder sized for a straight-cylindrical shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit. Solid carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used in setups with excessive runout or in handheld drilling applications. Follow applicable shop safety standards and tooling manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds based on workpiece material.
