The GUHRING 9007300049200 is a solid micrograin carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for accurate, repeatable hole-making in production and general-purpose machining environments. Built to DIN 6539 standards, this stub-length drill measures 0.1935 inches (No. 10 wire gauge) in diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank and a 118-degree faceted point. The two-flute spiral configuration with web-thinned point geometry reduces thrust force at entry and promotes clean chip evacuation. It is installed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance mechanics working with CNC machines, drill presses, or hand-held power tools.
This drill bit is rated for general-purpose use with aluminum as the primary workpiece material, though its micrograin carbide construction supports work across a range of non-ferrous and ferrous materials at appropriate feeds and speeds. The stub-length body provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it well-suited for applications requiring tight hole-location tolerances or reduced deflection in short-reach setups. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 18.62 mm maximum drilling depth make it appropriate for through-holes and blind holes in thin-to-medium stock.
Designed as a general-purpose stub-length carbide drill bit in the GUHRING Series 730, compatible with straight-shank toolholders and drill chucks accepting a 4.92 mm shank diameter. Sized to DIN 6539 specification for No. 10 wire gauge (0.1935 inches) applications.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine powered down and spindle locked. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet rated for the shank diameter before operation. Verify feed rate and spindle speed are appropriate for the workpiece material before drilling. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used in applications with excessive side-loading or interrupted cuts without confirming suitability.
