The GUHRING 9007300048500 is a solid carbide stub-length drill bit designed for precise, high-performance drilling in demanding shop and production environments. Built to DIN 6539 standards, this Series 730 bit features a 0.191 inch (wire gauge #11) diameter, a 118-degree faceted point angle, and a web-thinned tip geometry that reduces entry force and improves hole accuracy. The micrograin carbide construction delivers superior hardness and wear resistance compared to HSS tooling, making it well suited for high-cycle applications. It is typically installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production drilling operators.
This drill bit is rated for general-purpose drilling with a primary recommendation for aluminum workpieces, though its micrograin carbide grade performs reliably across a range of non-ferrous and softer ferrous materials. The stub-length (screw machine length) body provides added rigidity and reduced deflection, which is advantageous in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turret-style screw machines where spindle support is close to the workpiece. Maximum drilling depth is 0.737 inches (18.73 mm), consistent with the 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio of the Series 730 design.

Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Ensure the drill press, CNC spindle, or hand-held drill is powered down and fully stopped before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Confirm chuck or collet bore is clean and within tolerance before securing the straight shank to prevent runout. Observe appropriate speeds and feeds for the workpiece material; carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to breakage under shock loading or excessive lateral force.
