The GUHRING 9007300025800 is a solid carbide stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for precision drilling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Sized at wire gauge Number 38, it produces a 0.1015-inch diameter hole with a 118-degree, 4-facet point geometry and web-thinned tip that reduces thrust and improves hole entry. At 1.69 inches overall length with a 0.55-inch flute length, this is a short, rigid tool suited for tight-clearance applications and CNC drilling cycles where deflection must be minimized. The straight cylindrical shank measures 2.58 mm in diameter and fits standard collet chucks and drill chucks. Manufactured to DIN 6539 standards, the bright uncoated finish is typical for carbide tools running in non-ferrous work.
This drill bit is intended for use on aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials in production and job-shop environments. The stub length format provides maximum rigidity compared to jobber or taper-length drills, making it a preferred choice for Swiss-type screw machines, CNC machining centers, and bench drill presses where short tool stickout is required. Maximum drilling depth is 0.399 inches (10.13 mm), consistent with its 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio. Machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators are the primary users of this bit type.
Designed as a general-purpose stub-length drill for aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Compatible with standard straight-shank collet chucks and drill chucks accepting a 2.58 mm (0.1016-inch) shank diameter. Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine at a full stop and all motion axes at rest. Secure the shank fully in the collet or drill chuck to the recommended grip depth before applying clamping torque. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used in setups with excessive side load or interrupted cuts outside its rated application. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable tolerance before drilling precision-tolerance holes.
