The GUHRING 9007300015100 is a solid carbide stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding shop and production environments. Sized at 0.0595 inches (Wire Size 53) in diameter with a 118-degree faceted point angle, this bit delivers clean entry and accurate hole geometry in small-diameter applications. The micrograin carbide construction resists wear and maintains cutting-edge integrity at higher feeds and speeds compared to high-speed steel alternatives. A bright/uncoated finish suits applications where coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern. Manufactured to DIN 6539 standards, the 9007300015100 is a Series 730 tool suited for machinists, tool-and-die shops, and production drilling operations.
This drill bit is optimized for use in aluminum as its primary workpiece material, though general-purpose grade performance extends its utility across a range of non-ferrous and softer ferrous materials. The stub-length (3xD) flute design provides increased rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it well suited for CNC machining centers, manual mills, and screw machine setups where runout control and hole position accuracy are critical. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard collets and drill chucks without adapters.
Designed as a general-purpose stub-length carbide drill bit conforming to DIN 6539, compatible with standard straight-shank collets and drill chucks accepting a 1.51 mm shank diameter. Suitable for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and screw machines where a Wire Size 53 hole diameter is required.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully within a precision collet or keyless chuck to minimize runout before initiating a cut. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loads, interrupted cuts, or hand-feeding at excessive pressure, as these can cause tip fracture. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against the workpiece material before drilling.
